6.1.0.6 is very usable.

Solo/Arm toggle work great for the last track.
Mute works.
The scaling on Pan is outstanding. When set to +/- 4 it feels just right.

I was unable to figure out a way to make pan affect the last selected track (it is like Solo and Arm in that there is only one pan control meant to affect the last track).

Fast Forward as a target would also be a nice addition, too.

Good stuff!

can't remotely control from numerology?

Postby brook » Tue Dec 28, 2004 12:36 am

WHoops this should have been in a different topic so I'll move it (it's on the remote control functions but not a feature request - at least I THINK it's not a missing feature....

Pan is the only heavily used control left that could use an additional feature to make it useful for the US-428. At first I thought it needed to be like "Solo" and "Arm" to make it work for the last track selected but that doesn't make sense because there is not a 1 to 1 correlation between tracks and mixer channels.

So, allowing selecting mixer channels as the current to be controlled for "Output Pan (+/-)" would be really useful. Maybe one controller to select the next higher channel (go from the currently selected channel to the currently selected channel + 1) and another to select the next lower channel. That way the "extra" assignable buttons could be used to select the mixer channel and the single pan control could then adjust the pan for that channel.

Any consideration for Fast Forward being a target as well?

Thanks,
Gary

Sorry for the delay.

Yes. Metro 6.3.3.1 implements FF as a target. It also has Track +/- as a target as well as LED MIDI output targets.

To implement what you want for pan, I think all I need to do is have a target that is the track output volume and pan. This would look at the tracks output assignment and adjust that tracks pan and/or volume.

Also, I am thinking of adding a bank select option. Any suggestions on how this should be implemented would be very helpful. I already have the concept of modifiers. There is a shift modifier and 7 option modifiers that can be targets in remote control. The options toggle so perhaps having a way to select the a track + (optionN * v) would work where optionN is an option modifer (1 thru 7) and v is a user specified variable that is the size of the bank select.
