Yep me again...
Right now I'm running 10.3 on a G5
Metro 6.08

Here is the problems..
The fast forward button does not work
In the graphic editor window using midi, let's say I've just made a note that is too long, and want to cut some of it off. In Metro 5, OS 9, I would simply highlight the unwanted length, and choose cut in the edit option.. This is not working with my current setup. However I have been able to cut data in the tracks window... kinda odd
Also when I tried to go to the notation window, it states that it is currently available in OS9 only..

So I take it I need to update Metro. Which version?
Also I have not been able to connect the G5 to the internet for any length of time (yep I'm a moe ron). When I download the needed updater I will use my older mac running OS 9 (G3), will I be able to burn it on disc and expect it to upload successfuly on the G5?

Fast Forward doesn't work in OSX.
It does however take you to the next bar if you're stopped and you click it and if you hold it down it flys along rapidly.

I will go and look at metro 5 about the editing.
You can hold the shift key down and drag it smaller for now.

6.1.0.x has notation and is downloadable now.
I would get out of 6.08 as soon as possible.

The G4 version is the one to use on the G5.
(the G4 version is referring to altivec and the G5 is ok with this).

Metro Altivec might be a better title........or the other version could be renamed Metro G3 (and lower). :)

I wouldn't see problems with the OS9 download.
It would be more dependant on the decompressor.
Make sure you have a newer (OSX) version downloaded when you grab metro. This should help you get up and running again.

To cut off notes in the graphic editor you have to deselect edit-notes-in-selection-only from the switches menu. You can always shift-drag notes to adjust their duration.

As for updating to 6.1. You can do it on a non-internet machine but you must get the program loaded (you may need 6.0.8 on there as well due to a bug in 6.1.0.5). Once loaded, in the qualify dialog there is a number needed for support (if it says 'soundbank =' it is a bug and you need to try the other version) listed in the dialog. Email that to support@sagantech.biz and we will supply you with the information to get you copy properly installed.

Downloaded the updater. Burned to disc. Put it into G5. Followed instructions. I did not see qualify dialog. Update auto inserted itself. Notation works. Fast forward button works. Cutting extra time in graphic editor still not like it was in the Metro 5 version. However I did not know about the shift + drag option, which is much better than the way I was going about things, so all is well.
Does that sound about right? I'm assuming that all is well means that I did all well.
Thanks for the help.... until the next big crises!

As of 6.1.0.6 Metro and Metro SE support the fast forward button under CoreAudio (OS X).

And we wonder where the bugs come from?

Maybe an external synth could be set to trigger the f key on the mac keyboard......for when you need a variable to = f or just remap the keyboard away from qwerty.

It's obvious Sean is the only one that reads everything. lol
