Chaining multiple usb interfaces....

Postby MediaUnion » Thu Dec 04, 2003 10:40 am

Hey,

I guess I should change my name to cheaprecording....

Has anyone chained a group of usb devices like the iMic(2 in/out) and an audiophileUSB (2 in/out) and recorded 4 tracks simultainiously within Metro?

Can I hurt CoreAudio or the usb bus?
Are there any throughput or latency issues? Any conflicts?

Just looking at a new project and don't have the cash for a multi in
interface.
iMac G4 15" OSX 10.2.8

You can hear some of my 2004 project music at my website:

Thanks,

Kevin,

Metro will not allow this. You may only select a single audio device using Core Audio and Metro. Under OS 9 and sound manager you can playback to multi-devices (no guaranteed sync between devices) and you may be able to record from multiple devices but satisfactory results are again not guaranteed.

Buy a multi-port interface!
