Fretboard input!

How about being able to select between a keyboard or fretboard to input notes. Man, that would make inputing ideas I come up with on guitar a LOT easier.

I was thinking the same thing.....but how would you go about it?
I haven't thought of a way to do it yet....so I've kept quiet.

Yeah a midi guitar controller does the input......I assumed the message meant - to see a guitar down the left hand side of the graphic editor instead of a piano.

Since metro currently can detect white and black notes that are in different locations (I suppose really they are all in one long line going down) would it be possible to display a fret board and allow six different locations (strings) going left to right?

A black circle or something would have to represent which note is played.......and as the same note can be played in other places on the fretboard it starts becoming a bit of a nightmare.

As six different strings could be played along the same horizontal line, colours or the letter of the string played would have to be used.

Right, that's what I meant. Have a fretboard displayed on the screen rather than a keyboard. I've seen other software display a fretboard that you can click on to sound the notes. Can't remember what it's called though.
