How did Metro leave Cakewalk?

Postby Scoot » Tue Feb 11, 2003 11:10 pm

Jeremy wanted his baby back?

Cakewalk decided to stop supporting Macs?

Cakewalk had enough of everyone telling them in newsgroups that Metro was better than their flagship? :)

I got the impression that Metro was dead.

Going back time after time to Cakewalk's website to find to harder to get any Metro information and no updates made me think......eeekkk!!! NOOO!

I got excited :o to see Metro 6 so I had to rush off and tell Macintouch.

I was also fustrated to see Metro vanishing on Cakewalk, and after my last email to them, they said Metro was no more I was crushed. Then I happened to catch on some forum news that this was false and that Metro would rise again. And now, here I am. This forum only has 15 or so registered users, yet I think many more people used Metro. Is the "news" not getting out?

Is Metro LE (free web download) still available, and if so, has it been Carbonized? If it has, perhaps I should add an announcement on my home page to increase downloads and traffic to Sagan's site.

Cheers

Well I was only told 2 days ago that these forums existed. I thought it was a positive thing to see...........and there are the occasional guests that don't want to sign up.........and I don't know why.

Maybe due to Cakewalk's lack of support, Metro has lost some momentum but I'm sure it can gain it back. There are not to many reasonably priced sequencers out there so SE has a good market to shine in....and then perhaps get people into the full version later. I'm keen to upgrade but am currently broke.

You could go into the cakewalk newsgroups and advertise it exists.
Even better go to steinberg.

Yes, but it is called SE. It is available from our store for $59. It is a Mach-O application which is an OS X native application (for all intensive purposes you can consider it carbonized). It also runs under OS 9 as a CFM application.
