Editing controllers with the pencil tool

Below is a composite of 2 graphic editor views......the pgm change editing view and a controller view.

Would it be possible to have the pencil (with a key combination) when editing a controller, behave like it does in the pgm change?

ie. breaks the line and draws another horizontal line straight across to the right.

This would make the result a little quicker and easier to do.
Or have I forgot a setting that does this?

Try option or control drawing. Option locks the vertical position and control allows one to draw straight lines.
