An iPad app that served as a controller for the mixer window would be phenomenal ... much more hands on than doing it through mouse click/drags... just a thought.

I don't have an iPad but have you tried something like this?

Of course in Metro you will need to use the remote control window to assign incoming MIDI events.

I recently purchased an iPhone and wondered if Metro would work with any of the DAW controllers for the iPhone.

I see the AC-7 Core Mini works with all DAWs that support Makie Control protocol.
