Hello Forum!

My first ever post so bear with me if some of this things have been suggested befor, sorry..
and thank you Jeremy for Metro andthis fantastic URE! -one of the best musical generators I have found. Good work!

My workflow is usually start with URE on a track (usual drums) som bars. Then another track with URE on bass etc.
I always keep the sequencer running an 'jam' out with generating new patterns, muting, unmuting etc.. and sometimes record this 'jamming' with Audio Hijack.

REQUEST:The nice thing would be to have a dedicated URE on every track. Maybe a little icon on the every track to open several UREs [with different colour? or track names in header?]. .. or simply that the URE remembers all its preferences/choices for the tracks when moving back and forth between tracks?

REQUEST2:Have the Patterns/Phrase/Lead - Density From To % moved to the front of URE so it is faster to experiment with more changes or less changes when generating new phrases and patterns. [actually I hope for more control parameters on the front page of URE - for me it could be a much bigger window or that one could open the preference pages as its own windows, when experimenting with the parameters. Well no biggie request this one, but...

.. and while at the topics - I would like to see check boxes on the different functions of Derivation Magic Numbers so it will automatically calculate the correct Macic Number. Make it more esay to turn of wanted effects in the generating process (As of now a have a textpage up with all the function and its numbers and calculate the Magic number in the Derivation box):

Thank you for your feature request. I will review and respond in more detail soon.

Your magic derivative bit-wise calculations do look correct. One of the reasons they are not in a pop-up (or as you suggest, checkboxes), is that they are subject to change without warning and the current interface makes that relatively simple (just document differently). I do agree this would be better from a user perspective.

I am thinking about adding the ability of each track to retain URE data. The RE data would be saved when either new tracks are generated or when the RE preferences dialog's 'OK' is selected. The data would be written into the Metro document and read when the document is loaded. It would require a change to the database making all documents, written after implementation, incompatible with previous versions.
