Feature Request

Postby GSpro » Fri Mar 10, 2006 2:26 am

Hello Jeremy and Forum.
I have 3 requests if I may.

#1) Is it possible to implement a color feature for the Event Editor?
Reason why I'm asking is that when alot of SysEx Messages are used in a row especially at the start of a measure, it would help somewhat differentiate them from others. Kind like Hilighting them or group them, this is part of this so to speak.
Here is a small exemple:

F0 7E 7F 09 01 F7 GM Reset
F0 41 10 42 12 00 00 7F 00 01 F7 GS Reset
F0 41 10 42 12 40 00 04 65 57 F7 Master Volume
EFFECT
EFFECT PARAMETERS
Especially this...there could be several of 'em
And so on.

Actually this will also be usefull for Control Changes.

#2) Is it possible to implement the display of the actual SysEx in the Event Editor?

#3) I don't know if this is a bug or not. The Event Editor window only expands vertically.
I noticed today while inserting CC messages I was not able to read the rest of the text going accross so I tried to expand the window from left to right and didn't work.
If this is not a bug and request #2 could be implemented, I would like to be able to read the SysEx in the Event Editor from F0 to F7.

Just for the record and for what its worth This is what software product should be like.
I purchased Metro LX a week ago, and the only thing I can say is: it's lean, mean and to the point. Not a crash, quit, glitches of any kind, stuck notes, you name it. I know that there is no bug free software. It's just impossible.
Jeremy I applaude your work and effort you put into this project. I'm actually loving this all over again without loosing my temper for a change.

Thank you and keep it up

While I like your suggestions I have other things on the front burner at this time.

You do know that you can provide a name for any existing sysex events to distinguish them from each other?

Say what? No. If you click on the sysex event in the graphic editor or Event editor a dialog will come up that allows you to edit the sysex data and name the sysex event.
