Folders for the plug-ins window.

A way of sorting plug-ins would be nice.
Folders you could name and move up and down the list would be good.

Peak has a way of doing folders.
I think it looks for identical names and places them into a folder.

eg.
digitalfishphones: blockfish
digitalfishphones: floorfish
digitalfishphones: spitfish

becomes a folder called digitalfishphones containing blockfish, floorfish and spitfish.

One silly thing is the system peak uses - finds the VSTplugins folder (harddisk/library/audio/plug-ins/vst/) and shows there's nothing in it and the sampletank instruments folder in the list (with nothing in it cause it must be looking for VST and AU type plugs-ins).

You can already sort plug-ins. It would be nice, and I am not sure but I think what are saying is, to have hierarchical menus in the plug-ins window with a finder-link browser with triangles.

Please specify your idea in more detail.

how? apart from removing them?

If I click on "name" it makes them alphabetical.
If I click on "name" again it changes the order of some of the "type" fields (switches order of Audio Unit and V2 Audio Unit).

If I click on "type" I get them alphabetical.
If I click "type" again nothing happens.

If you click name in a finder window, it goes alphabetical.
If you click it again it goes reverse alphabetical.
Metro has it's own rules here.

If the plug-ins window could behave like a finder folder in list mode.

You could add a folder.
Rename it.
Place any or as many plugins as you like in it.
Open the folder with the small triangle.

Perhaps have an add folder button at the top similar to the buttons at the top of the sections window.

Golive has a way of ordering items listed in a pop-up.
There is an up and down arrow that you can click on......and it moves the highlighted item up and down the list.

Even something like this would allow me to move most of my apple AU plugins to the bottom of the window list and put the more used ones to the top.

Perhaps you mean rearrange and not 'sort'. Sort means to put them in order. Metro currently allows you to sort by name or type.
