I cannot connect to the aforementioned website. Is it down or is it just my connection?

Jerm,

I have been trying to connect all day with no luck. Lots of traffic, I assume.

I was able to download the free VST version, but had trouble with authorizing the program. Also, I was able to download some free instruments, but Stuffit Expander keeps giving me an unspecified internal error... or something to that effect. Anyone else have any problems?

At the time I posted the message about it I was trying to download it. It got to 10% and stopped.......yes I think there server is down. The ikmultimedia.com parent site is not showing everything either. Seems to sit there a lot trying to grab graphics. Maybe they need to upgrade to the next bandwidth downloading limit.

I have these numbers if someone wants to tell them. :D

US only toll free 866-243-1718
UK only toll free 0800-093-4066
International Phone +39-059-285496
International Fax +39-059-2861671

The authorizing used to bother me when my screen was 800 by 600. It may pay to copy the code they supply as it can be pasted into place.

If stuffit shows an internal error, a newer version should fix that.

The sampletank server is up.

Obviously it was on Easter break.

The good and the very bad!

Postby Jerm » Tue Apr 22, 2003 6:28 pm

Well the good news  and the bad news

The store now contains the upgrades to the new OS X versions of Sampletank.

The bad news is the authorization dialog crashes 100% of the time (at least in Metro SE) upon the press the ok button.

I have a support request in with them so I will keep you posted.

I also experienced a crash 100% of the time when using Metro SE and Sampletank.

Also... I got an error message when trying use Stuffit Expander to unstuff some of the free ".sit" sample files. I know the free piano gave me an error. Anyone else experience this problem?

I know the second paragraph above is not Metro-related, but since we are on the subject... :?

I had no problems downloading or unstuffing ST Free or the free samples. I just can't figure out how to use it in Metro SE. I'm totally new to this and the manual is not newbie friendly in explaining how to use soft synths and VST instruments. At the same time, I'm very impatient when it comes to ready manuals :?

Are you guys refering to the Free or regular version of ST for OS X?

I called this number today to try to get assistance and it was forwarded to a voice message system where the mailbox was full.

It is too bad because I think the Sampletank product is a great mix with Metro.

Well Jerm the only positive thing from that is they haven't changed their phone numbers to avoid their customers. I got that number a year or 2 ago.

As for Sampletank OSX 1.19 (or whatever version it is), I think there will be a few updates before they get it right. It seems to crash in many different situations. (or should that be hahaha).

Scooterman,

I think the crash you are experiencing with Sampletank is fixed in Metro 6.0.7 (I assume you are not talking about the authorization dialog crash).

I haven't been able to emulate the crashes of 6.05 in 6.07 yet but I think sampletank is currently a little bit like OMS. Random. :D

I do not know if this is a quirk or not but............

This is correct - If you create stereo aux busses on the audio controller and then go into the effects window you can select the Aux's and drag plugs to them. great.

BUT if you create the aux busses on say Sampletank and go to the effects window, you can click and see Aux 1 ,2, 3 etc but they are unselectable. I can even get metro to show an aux in the effects window as "Aux 1 (Sampletank Free)" but it won't select it. Either you shouldn't be able to allocate the aux bus in the first place to sampletank or it shouldn't show the Aux's being availiable in the effects window.

If they are meant to be available then its a bug cause - they aren't.
