Metro Dies With 2 ST2 Samples

Postby fastlanephil » Wed Dec 29, 2004 11:45 pm

When I try to load Brass> Crescendo Brass Section or Expression Alto Sax Metro dies. I'm not sure why this happens and it happens in a new file so it's not a CPU problem. Maybe the samples are corrupted. Anyone else experiencing this. They are next to each other in the instrument list.

What does "Metro dies" mean? It crashes or something else?

Metro Dies With 2 ST2 Samples

Metro just quits. Then the usual Apple bug report window comes up. It happens as soon as you load the samples, very quickly.

Yes. I have reproduced this problem. It crashes within Sampletank 2. The developer has been sent an email so that he is aware of this problem. I will report back when I hear something from Italy. Thanks.

From the developer in Italy:

"Meanwhile I have a couple of workarounds:
1) Load the problematic sounds with effects lock enabled: this will bypass effects loading, preventing the crash.
2) Install an older version of ST2, load the problematic sounds and save a user preset for each (for example naming them 'Crescendo Brass Section Fixed' and 'Expression Alto Sax Fixed'). Now reinstall 2.0.8 and use the fixed user presets instead of the buggy main sound."

I am not really sure what the effects lock is :? but it must be in ST2 somewhere.

Could be this...but maybe the bypass light needs to be active as well?

Doing the lock thing definitely fixes the problem.
