The Yamaha PSR series are essentially real time arranger'players.

How do I setup Metro SE 6 to capture the "midi" recording ?

It would be good to go through the midi message titled "Metro LX and Korg Triton LE".

That gives you everything you need to setup metro with a synth.

I am uncertain though if while you're in arrangement mode on the PSR, that the keyboard is actually spitting midi out the midi port.
Mine was never awake to teh fact when playing the demo tracks.

Maybe you 'dump' the midi into metro or something......but its not something I am familar with.

Perhaps he wants to record 16 channels (an arrangement) at a time.

To do this, select 'edit port' from the outputs popup in the track window and select port:yamahaPSR2000 then record-enable the track. You then may want to use MIDI sync (search our help section for more info on MIDI sync). Then record from Metro and play on the PSR (assuming it has a sequencer). Press stop when you are done recording. You should then use 'expand by channel' in Metro to get each individual channel on a separate track.

Alternatively you could exchange the data via MIDI files.

As you can see I am not too familiar with the PSR series. You may also want to check the PSR manual for important information.

Jerm and Scoot,

Thanks for the info and advice..

Yes, I want to record all 16 midi tracks at the time I am playing my psr in realtime arrangement mode.

I'll try the setups suggested and see what is recorded.

I've got a couple of Roland realtime arrangers ( vintage models ) so will hook them up to learn how they work with Metro SE 6.

I;ve got arrangers working in OS 9 and 8.6 but with different midi/audio sequencers.

Once again thanks for your interest and giving me a hand up.
