I have a Roland Spd-20 percussion pad and have been using Pro tools. While midi works fine in Pro Tools- (le) as a novice I am now wanting to take the plunge and upgrade to a new midi program.
Pro tools only records on one midi channel at a time. Not a problem since my spd-20 does as well. Here is the dilema..
#1. I would like to split up the midi notes (each drum) to a separate channel so that I can mix each drum after converting it to an audio file.
I have a digi 001 and it only has one midi in/out/thru.
I eventually would like to record more that one midi device at a time and pro tools only does this on one midi track. I like to record a midi and audio track at the same time.
#2. Does Metro SE let me do this? Do I need a separate midi interface other than the Digi 001?
#3. Will Metro and protools play together?
Sorry, these may be basic questions but It's hard to find the answers clearly on the forums.
