when I play in midi I get an anunwanted note

Hi

I recall I saw the answer to this...when I play the keyboard, I hear, along with the notes/instruments I am playing, a ping ping ping.

It is not there on playback, but it is annoying. I can set them manually back via the keyboard/

Ca you remind where where i turn this off?

I am connecting my P250 keyboard to the computer.

Thanks

Metronome...no

Postby arenson » Sun Apr 29, 2007 9:37 pm

Ok, too many variables. Metronome is not set. And now I do not get that extra tone. that is good. But can't set instruments correctly now.

If I load an existing file I made from internet it sort of works... As I use it so infrequently, I forget what I did last time.

So I start from scratch. But something is not right....
Tracing the steps+¥*

MIDI SETUP
Open Metro. Launch Midi Setup. Line between P250 keyboard and NEW EXTERNAL Device. So I est setup: click New External Device) and get sound ok
Record from, receive sync from P250Port 1 Send sync to New external device, P250, Port 2.

OUTPUTS
8 midi starting with 1 (new external device)
8 audio starting with 9 (Firepod)
Replace existing (Did not check Make outputs reflect MIDI Setup

I TRY IT

Ok...I can enter all and they sound ok, in piano.

(I hear a random single note though when not doing anything that is creepy.)

So I add ins file

PROGRAM NAMES

For port NEW EXTERNAL DEVICE
Assign P20 Bank 112
OPEN P250 ins file
OK

But this doesn't allow me to control the names.

Need to go back to square one and do systemcatically as I use so infrequently I forget.
