MIDI note length along the tempo

Postby TAUL » Sat Nov 10, 2012 3:31 am

Hello.
It seems that it is not reflected in the timing of MIDI "note off", when tempo is changed after "note on" signal of a long tone.
Are there some setting to crrect this state? :?
Thanks.

Hello Taul,

Can you post (or email me) a MIDI file that exhibits this problem?

Thank you fast corresponding.

I've commented insufficient at this post. :|
This problem occurs with plug-in instruments.
That does not occur assigned internal sound.

I will mail you attach a sample data with problem.
Please test it.

Thank you.

Ok thanks for the example.

This is a bug. The problem is that for softsynths (VSTi's) the note off time is calculated when the note on hits as it is noteOnTime+Duration. However this is incorrect since it is based on the tempo at the time of the noteOn.

I will look into fixing this as any workaround (to lengthen the notes randomly until they sound right) is extremely awkward.

Hopefully it will be fixed in time for Metro 7.0 release this year.
