Has anyone had a soundfont/drum track audio just dissapear ?

Postby sgrocott » Fri May 02, 2003 1:37 pm

I just upgraded to the latest G4 build and had the audio output from my sequenced drum track dissapear when I stated recording again. Notes are viewable in the track, level meter shows activity, - no sound coming out of speakers......the rest of the audio and midi/soundfont tracks in the project come through fine. Reboot brought it back briefly, then after a record enable on 2 tracks simultaneously it throws a warning about 2 identical sources being selected (fine with me...that's what I wanted) and my drum track dissapears. :? ?

Thanks

Never used soundfonts but may be able to give you some clues and hit the cause by accident. :) I assume its similar to using a sampler on a track???

Drum track audio from a midi track? Or is it already recorded to audio?

Partial track recording is off in the switches menu? Then again it's registering and showing notes. I assume you're adding/changing notes on the same track?

Soundfont is an aux effect and the track you are talking about has its fader for the aux on 0 instead of up to hear it and the level meter you're watching is the 'Main' not the Aux.

Have been playing with soundfonts. They're quite cool.

I allocated a couple of ports to them. If you were to make the drum track channel 10 it should play........that's how I got it to work! :D
(easiest thing to do is add 10 instruments to the DSLdevice port and that way number 10 is always drums.......or allocate just one and change the channel and the name of the fader in the instruments window).

Soundfonts seem to behave exactly like my hardware synth without the bulk of carrying it round. 8)

This bug was recently fixed in 6.2.1 I believe.
