No MIDI in OSX

Postby axnyslie » Sat Oct 04, 2003 8:41 pm

I'm trying to run Metro 6.0.8 on a G4 with OS X 10.2.8 with Audiophile 24/96 but I cannot make MIDI work. Everything works fine on OS 9.

In OS X MIDI Setup it scans and sees "Delta AP-MIDI" However this does not show up under the Ports option. Only "Internal" and "Analog 1/2 Delta-AP" so there is no option to record or palyback MIDI. All the projects I created in OS 9 cannot work either. The "Change Ports" window can not find a replacement.

Any Help would be appreciated.

Is this the infamous 10.2.8 or the newer version which is now out?

As I'm unfamilar with the devices you mention, I was wondering if it could be a driver issue? Have you had it working in other OSX or Jaguar versions? Are the drivers the latest? Can you ask the makers if their products work in 10.2.8?

It is the newer version of OS X 10.2.8 and Metro did not work with the previous OS X version either. So the issue isn't the OS version it's with the Metro version. The problem occured when I updated Metro to 6.0.8 and there is no updated driver from M-Audio for the Audiophile 2496.

It sounds to me like your AMS document is not configured properly. Have you gone through this:

Make sure you have devices connected to interfaces inputs and their receive channels are specified properly.

That didn't quite help either. It scans and finds "Delta-AP MIDI" I tried patching my Roland XP-30 to it but the drawn cable connections are always gone when I quit AMS. AMS has to stay open for the connection to work

Have you contacted the device manufacturer? If AMS cannot hold a connection then Metro won't be able to either.
