Device Options: Input never available / Can't record audio

Postby Tenebrous » Wed Jan 28, 2004 9:04 pm

Is this normal? Whenever I select a device in the Device Options screen, I go to choose the input device and it's always unselectable. I'm on Metro G4 6.1.6, 512 Mb, G4 776, Midiman Audiophile 24/96.

This is part of a larger problem, I think -- I'm not able to record any audio. I know the signal is getting to the machine, because I can see the VU meters go up and down when I hit the guitar. So the signal path to the card is fine, and from the card to the OS is fine, too. It's when it gets into Metro, it just chokes, I think.

Any ideas?

FWIW, I'm not sure that the 24/96 is well-supported under OS/X. It was a real bear getting MIDI to work with the thing.

It sounds like everything is working correctly. It is normal for many audio devices to not show an input source. What is the audio device you are using?

If you are seeing a signal in Metro then you should definitely be able to record it. What happens when you press record?
