clicking the link just took me to http://www.m-audio.com/index.php probably due to .swf turned off or something.

What product should I be looking at?

$695 due in April

Looks nice. It's about time we had some mid-priced firewire options with lots of inputs.
Street price probably $525-550?

Bayview Pro Audio is selling it for $549, to get an idea of the price.

It is possible to record in mono mode.

Notice the downward pointing triangle in the above picture to the left of "R M S". Click on this to get a pop-up and then make sure that Audio Record Input Select (InpSel) item is selected. Then from that column of the tracks window, you can select mono or stereo for the track to be recorded upon.

To record multiple tracks, simply shift-click the record column of the tracks window.
