Audio "quantizing" or stretch time?

Is it possible to "quantize" audio tracks or must they require the stretch time feature, and does Metro SE have such feature?

Secondly, if I recorded midi and audio tracks on a tune, and I want to change the tempo, why does the audio not sync up with the midi, when both were recorded to the click track? Is it because of this "stretch time" feature again?

Does SE have a time stretch? Nope....but Big Mac Metro does.
It may even work in the demo so I suggest you download it and try it out. 25 minutes at a time.
You can have it resample which makes the pitch go up or down (like in the days of soundedit) or you can time stretch it which speeds up or slows down play of the original. Processing does make it sound different.

There is of course 3rd party plugs that are out there that may do it better. It would be a good topic to start as another forum question.

Because there is nothing in the audio to tell it to speed up or slow down.
There are little midi messages in metro telling it what synth instrument to play and at what volume and reverb settings to use at a particular moment. You go about dong this in audio in different ways.

Is the audio recorded to a click track? Nope....the click track is for you to keep time.

Actually if you split up your audio into regions Metro will change the audio tempo correctly. Say you have a bass drum on the 1 beat and a snare on the two, you can split these into different audio regions and change the tempo at will.
