syncing audio track to reason

hi,

i have an audio file that another musician sent me and he
didn't use a click track or anything, other then his playing for me to try and sync to. i have found the tempo (close, but not quite) through the tap thing but during his playing he staggers
around a bit and misses the beginning of a measure here and there which then throws off the beat thing coming from reason.

is there a way to get these this audio and reason to match up better. i'm just getting into metro lx and didn't see a part in the manual that discusses this.
