Upgrade to 6.22 problem

Postby jukehouse » Sat Jan 22, 2005 9:47 am

So I upgraded from 6.1 to 6.22 this morning. Installation was without problems. 6.22 even showed up with all effects in place {e.g. Roomverb, SFX Machine, etc} which actually kind of surprised me. I figured I would have to reinstall effects programs.

So here's the problem : when I opened a file I created with 6.1 and played it, the tracks that had effects added to them via an Effects window did not show up in the Mixer window. I checked the routing from the Effects window for those tracks (there were actually 3 tracks) and they were correctly routed from the Effects window to the correct channel in the Mixer window. The output for these tracks does show up with the proper level in the Tracks window.

All tracks that are not routed through seperate Effects windows do show up at the Mixer window and play properly.

Upgade to 6.22

Postby jukehouse » Sat Jan 22, 2005 12:38 pm

I've been able to correct that issue. It appears that 6.22 was unable to find the Apple AU (graphic EQ) I had on one of the vocal tracks. I deleted it from the Effects window and re-added it to the same window and the track showed up at the Mixer window. Interestingly enough, so did the other 2 tracks that had the same Apple AU (but with different settings) that were not previously showing up at the Mixer window, without me having to go thru the process I described above.

Hmmmm

Here's another concern: I open a previously recorded song from inside 6.22, make changes, save it and close. When I later go back to open the same song by clicking the Metro Icon inside the folder for that song, it attempts to open it with an earlier version of Metro (6.0). Since it had already been opened in 6.22 and saved, it will not open in an earlier version. So, how do I get it to save as 6.22 so that all I need to do is click the Metro Document Icon inside the folder for that specific song and have it open as 6.22 ?

Juke,

If you could email me a copy of the file that does not open with the EQ (minus any audio) I can take a look at it.

As for opening the new documents in 6.2.2. You can ctrl (or right) click on the document in question in the finder and then press option. The menu item will change from open with to always open with, then select the appropriate application.

Alternatively, delete or archive the older version(s) of Metro.
