Playing loops

Postby juanchamo » Sat Apr 24, 2004 12:17 pm

Hi,
I'd like to work with sample loops and I'm new to it. I'm attracted to them by the sound quality and the broad availability in both styles and instruments at a reasonable price on the net.
The first problem I've come across is the tempo difference.
Can you change a loop tempo so that it will play ok with another loop?
Can you do that with Metro?
I've used a demo of the Live app and it does this automatically. However some loops don't sound right and this app is over my budget.
Is it difficult to edit loops in order to get a bunch of them to play at the same tempo and rhythm?
Will the Amazing Slow Downer do this?
Thanks
Juan

Yes you can but not directly with Metro. I believe Garage Band, Acid and Live are applications that allow you to do this easily. Also have a look at the phatmatik pro plug-in. It allows you to slice up loops.
