Converting a midi track to audio?

Is there a way to record a midi track to an audio track in SE using computer-based synths? This is a feature in Intuem, one of the few features of that app I really liked.

If you go into Metro SE and the File menu - if you see "Mix or Render Audio" then it's possible.

If you don't see this option, it's only in the full version.

Nope, I guess I'll just have to wait for the full version. I just keep finding more and more reasons to upgrade. If only my wife would agree with my priorities

Braj,

It is definitely in the file menu. It may just say mix audio tracks. SE DOES do this!

Jerm,

That's PERFECT! Thanks again for an awesome product! I'm just getting back to midi music after a 15 year hiatus. It cost me at least $15,000 back in the day for just the midi portion of what Metro LE does, I'm still blown away with what my $69 has gotten me.

Metro 5

Postby malan » Tue Jan 06, 2004 7:28 pm

I'm strongly considering upgrading to Metro 6 from Metro 5. However, I was just wondering if Metro 5 can convert MIDI to Audio. I was playing with MIDI just last week in METRO 5 but didn't know if it could do this.

The only way in Metro 5 to convert MIDI to audio is through Quicktime. I think you:

1. export a MIDI file and then
2. import an audio file and then
3. select the MIDI file exported in step 1.

Quicktime then converts it to audio. Of course it will always use its own built-in sounds and will not be anything near as good as an AU or a VSTi.
