Audio in from USB Audio, out to built-in (speaker/hf plug)?

Postby story » Mon Nov 17, 2003 12:47 pm

Last night I couldn't figure out how to configure Metro (SE 6.1.0.4) to record from USB Audio (specifically, my Griffin iMic) into Metro6, but play back to built-in audio (speaker/headphone plug). I can select one or the other, but record and play seem to move together. (Even if I've set one as input, the other as output, in the Apple Audio MIDI Setup, no corresponding choice seems to appear in Metro...)

Even better if I can set it up not only to record USB and play back through built-in, but record USB and monitor the recording in real time through built-in...

Seems like this should be trivial, but in my ignorance I can't get it to work.

You should be able to select the input from the main popup, then in device options select the output device. If it does not work, let me know. Software audio Play-thru will definitely not work in this configuration.

Thanks. I'll try what you said, set output thru device options. For some reason that wasn't intuitive 'round midnight!
