VSTi on OS 9

Postby aokjoey » Mon Jul 07, 2003 3:45 pm

Love Metro. After not seriously playing for 8 years, I decided I needed a creative outlet, so here I am. I have the OS 9 version of LinPlug's Free Alpha synthesizer. I placed it in the plugin folder, but do not see it. How would I select this on a track? I assumed it reqires an audio track, not MIDI, correct? Anything else I am missing?

Thanks, in advance,

If you place it in the proper plug-ins folder (inside the Metro folder) the plug-in will appear in the plug-ins window. Drag it from the plug-ins window to the effects window. This will change the currently selected track's output to be a MIDI track assigned to freealpha. Free alpha is a very cool plug-in and it definitely works with Metro 6.

VSTi's do NOT work with Metro 5.

I have to be doing something wrong because none of the plugins, including the extra ones you supply, show up even though they are in the plugins folder (not the OS X one, the OS 9 one - I checked).

I even moved effects that were in subfolders to the main plugins folder and that did nothing. The plugin window is empty.

One thing I did notice was that ALL the plugin icons were standard generic white icons, both Metro's and LinPlugs. I don't know why that would matter but I thought it was worth mentioning.

An older version of Metro 6 did not show any plug-ins. See our FAQ for more info.
