System requirements for 32 tracks/24bit/96kHz/Plugins

Postby Synth.Ignition » Sat Apr 09, 2005 12:01 pm

I understand the minimum system requirements for Metro 6 but I'd like to know other users' experience with their computer systems. I'm going to upgrade to Metro 6 from 5 but I'd like to pick up a used G4 Mac that will do what I need. I'd like to record and playback 32 tracks of audio at 24bit/96kHz, with room for a software synth or two, and quite a few(#?) plugins (delays, compressions, and eqs). I plan to use a UAD-1 PCI card for reverb and additional processing to ease some strain on the CPU. I'm wondering about RAM, CPU speed, bus speed, etc. Thanks, Ron

Assuming you are using OS X I would recommend at least a G4 tower 1 GHz, with a gig of ram and a fast and large hard drive.
