Metro 5, OSX and OMS

Postby RBlooz » Mon Nov 22, 2004 1:02 am

Hi there,
I've finally purchased a new G5 with all the bells and whistles, now I need a version of Metro I can load and use in the OSX platform. I tried loading my old version of Metro 5 and it won't even allow me to connect my devices in OMS! I know I should be able to run this using the Classic Mac software but it doesn't seem to work. Any suggestions? (besides spending a bunch of money on new Metro software, I just blew most of my available resources on the G5!). I do have Garage Band now, which is amusing but without a means of connecting my MIDI devices I'm SOL...Any help would be appreciated. BTW, I'm getting close to the completion of my new studio/room/office/bedroom. I've spent months working on it and I think the end result will be surprising to those who still believe you need a huge room to make a huge recording! I have tons of construction pics if anyone is interested. LateSw

While I'm not shure if Metro 5 can be ran in OSX, I do know that there is no such thing as OMS in OSX. Midi is set up in core midi located in applications > utilities > audio MIDI setup.

Metro 5 works in OS9.

It will not work in classic.

And since your G5 probably won't boot in 9 you have no choice but purchase a version of Metro 6.

I was about to suggest jumping to the LX version, but if you want to go from LX to the full version you'd pay more than the upgrade from your Metro 5 to the full Metro 6 or 6.2.

M5 -> M6 LX = $79.99

M6 LX -> M6 full = $194.99

M5 -> M6 full = $149.99 (probably the better deal)
