Audio MIDI Setup and Multiple Devices on Port

Postby cornutt » Wed Jun 04, 2003 9:52 pm

All right! My MIDI Express USB finally came in today, and I'm up and running with Metro 6! A question:

There are two places in my setup where I have two devices which are daisy-chained off of the same physical port of the MIDI Express, using the MIDI Thru on the first device. I've carefully set it up so there is no conflict in channel assignments. (For example, I have a Juno-106 on port 4 using channel 8, and a Midiverb II on the same port using channel 9.) I've got everything configured in Audio MIDI Setup and it didn't have any complaints.

What I find is that, when I look at my port popup menu and instruments window in Metro, it only sees the first device that I assigned to the port in AMS. For instance, on port 4 it only sees the 106, that being the first device that I entered into AMS on that port; it doesn't see the Midiverb. Is this an AMS limitation, or did I miss something? :?:

This is a bug in Metro. Fixed in 6.0.7.2 or perhaps 6.0.7.1 not sure which.

OK, thanks. I'll download that tomorrow, and then I'll try the Roland sysex checksum feature too.
