More LeadGen Questions (again...)

Postby Lytz1 » Mon Oct 22, 2018 7:34 pm

Hey there,

well trial and error only get me so far in a limited amount of time so I need to ask some more questions:
Some settings are still a bit arcane to me and are hard to figure out by testing.

Lead Preset Manager:

- Disallow Rhythm Mods

My take on this is that the original "timing pattern" of the notes will not change? (Thus allowing
always for the original added pattern to play, only adjusted by pitch?)

- Is fragment

Not sure here. Best guess: To be selected on very short phrases? Like only a couple of notes or fills?
Best to be deselected when a long pattern (i.e. over a full bar) is added that should stay as true to the original as possible?

URE Setting:

- Amalgamated

What?

Thanks,
tL.

If this is not selected, on occasion the LG will create a pattern using the rhythm of a one preset with the pitches of another. The probability of doing this is based on the 'rhythm' setting in URE preferences.

Fragments are not really implemented. They have been superseded by the LUT algorithm. Their only current use is to sometimes construct a turnaround using fragmented presets.

It is quite simple to understand (not to implement). Presets are amalgamated determined by the percentage set in the URE preferences dialog. An amalgamated preset is made up of multiple presets stitched together, sort of like Frankenstein. The timing of the original presets are maintained but only pieces of the presets are used. You can see which presets were selected by right clicking the RE pattern and selecting 'get details'. Amalgamated presets show something like [1, 23, 142]. This would mean that presets 1, 23 and 142 were combined to form an amalgamated preset.

Thanks a lot. This helps quite a bit with understanding the various options.

Pretty good stuff.
