When I was testing Metro, I had it on my 'everything' PC, and it does have Quicktime installed. I kept Metro installed on that machine while I was learning how to use it. Of course, I did read the web pages prior to purchasing, and while I read that Quicktime was supported, I didn't see anything stating it was required.
Since I was between projects, I decided to migrate to my production rig in conjunction with the 7.1 update.
Quicktime is a resource hog and seems to take up CPU and Memory even when it is not running. So, it's not going on my production rig. Since I don't do anything with video, I don't need it.
Oh well, Metro was fun to play with. But, I have to go with what works for me and the way I compose. This is just one of those buyer beware things. I should have asked more questions prior to ponying up the cash.
