Hi Jerm, can you tell me to what degree the AlphaTrack is supported? This seems like a pretty cool device. What can I expect when using it with Metro 6.4? How much interaction will be going on? Can I control my plugins with it and will Metro return values to it? Can I use it to select tracks and then add plugins? I'm fairly new to this remote controlling thing, so I'm not sure what to expect. Equipment like Mackie Control is way too big but the AlphaTrack seems to pack a lot in one small device. Can you elaborate?

I know you can  !

Yes.

It works with input and output and is user configurable although the new remote control feature set is not documented very well. With Metro's Alphatrack factory preset, there are 6 modes, mode 0 is the default mode and then there are modes for all of the tab button switches on the Alphatrack (Pan, Send, EQ, Plug-in, and Automation).

I am not sure I understand the question. You can control the automation for every published parameter of every plug-in currently instantiated.

Yes and sort of. You can use it to select tracks. With the factory preset you can use it to add an EQ plug-in. The remote control editor allows you to assign buttons to load any plug-in but you would have to configure that yourself and as I said the documentation on remote control is sparse at this point.

I think the Alphatrack web site explains what the Alphatrack can do fairly clearly. The support in Metro for the Alphatrack is very similar to the support in other programs. I think Frontier will be adding a Metro web page to their site at some point.
