Tempo info in imported midis?

Postby Stephanie » Mon Jun 11, 2007 5:52 pm

Hey all:

Is Metro supposed to import tempo settings and changes when dragging a midi file into the Tracks or the Sections windows? Mine (LX 6.3.8.6) doesn't - they aren't honoured and they don't show up in the Section Event Editor nor in the Tempo display in the Graphic editor. Everything plays at the default 120. Type 0 and Type 1 files behave the same.

Exporting a midi file that has tempo info in it works correctly.

Am I missing a setting or a step?

Have you tried using import MIDI file from the file menu? The problem is that there are a lot of plug-ins that support drag and drop and when you are dragging lots of MIDI files to tracks you definitely do not want the tempo changing all over the place.

Hey Jeremy:

Thanks for the tip - works as described, even if not as intuited :-)

I think it may also work if you drop the MIDI file on the Metro icon in the dock.
