Audio Clip Selection Freezes On

Postby SongORoland » Sat Jul 08, 2006 5:07 am

Metro SE 6.3.5.5

I loaded a long clip with multiple songs on one track. (i.e. song, gap, song etc. in track one).

I selected all, ran some filters on all, then selected one single song within that whole and ran a filter on it.

Then I selected all again and while selected, I thought I should probably save it, which I did.

And now I can't deselect or select any parts.

I even rebooted and the locked selection got saved cause it's the same problem when I re-opened the file.

The red grow box is around the whole and the grow feature is working but all it does is crop. The whole clip stays blue regardless what I do with the grow tool.

Since I don't know the program all that well yet, I may not yet know how to unlock it by doing something simple. Or it's a bug and I'm reporting it.

I'm going to do a work around and export the track and just open it fresh. But I'd like to know what to do about the problem in a more direct way.

Thanks.

Oh, I forgot to mention that the levels in the tracks window works only intermittently.

I do not think there are any bugs here.

So far so good.

When you applied a filter on the entire selection you combined all of the audio regions into a single region (clip). If you want to create multiple audio regions do this:
1. Make sure 'audio region editing' is unchecked in the switches menu
2. In the graphic editor select the silent area between your songs and press the 'delete' key.

You now have an audio region to the left and the right of the current selection which are as editable as the original.

Yeah. It isn't a bug. I did what you said and it worked.

Thanks.
