Saving Defined Outputs

Postby robertmc » Fri May 26, 2017 11:58 am

When we have a Metro file they way we like it, the manual suggests to open preferences and click "Save" there.

Some things are saved, some not. For instance the outputs of the tracks all revert to "Port: such and such" instead of defined outputs from the properly configured Metro file.

Is there any way to have these open with defined outputs? Or should we forgo the "New" command and open then save as one of our preconfigured Metro files?

Hello Robert,

Thank you for your question. If I understand correctly, you want a document set up with outputs all assigned.

The way to do that is with "stationery". Metro will open stationery files. These are exactly like its native documents except for that they don't allow you to save them (save as is required). This prevents accidentally overwriting them. To save as stationery use the .msd extension on the file.

I think on the Mac, there may be a check box (or a popup) in the save dialog.
