video effects ?

In the description promos for Metro it says this:

"The video system uses Apple's QuickTime technology for recording, applying video effects and overlaying text."

Can someone direct me to where I might find more details about what this is refering to.
thanks

If you have the full version of Metro you should be able to import a Quicktime movie (although this may be broken in the last pre-release). Then if you select the video (movie) track there is a menu options under 'edit:video:transition and effects'.

The most current version I have is G4 6.2.1
I tried the import a movie and any QT ".mov"s stayed grayed out.
Is my version up to the task?
seems not.
thanx

That bug appeared I think when Apple released 10.4 Tiger. However you should be able to work around it by dragging the movie to the Metro Icon in the dock.

Just Amazing.
The /drag-drop/ worked fine.
Can't wait to see what can be done with this.
Got any pointers to more info.
I'll check the Metro Docs then play some more with it.
Can it record video/audio?

Thanks.

This page has some information on Metro's video capabilities. Specific (but limited) documentation on the effects can be found here.

It's broken all right. If you try to import a movie into Metro 6.3.8.1 Metro goes bye bye. I just tried it as a test. I'm sure a fix is on the way.

6.3.8.2 definitely fixes this and makes movie making a little more friendly as well.
