I ran an updator on my Panther.. Everytime I turn the computer off.. I have to re authorize Metro 6>2.++ or any other level or metro for that matter. Is there some thing I'm supposted to do whenever I run an update? I know it is required for some other recording softwares but I cannot remember what is supposed to be done...

Save the prefs?

I run into problems sometimes when testing metro or running from other OS's. Usually the problem I run into is a 'write code' error dialog appearing and it means the next time I launch I am hassled by the registration again. Most of the time a restart seems to solve it.....or I get the write error dialog even though it did write and the next launching is fine.

Sometimes it can be caused by corrupted metro prefs.....and deletion and reregistering can cure it completely.

This happens because if Metro 6.1 or earlier is qualified and then you qualify Metro 6.2. or greater, the original Metro preferences file is now only qualified for the 6.2 version. This works the other way as well. If 6.2 is qualified and then you run 6.1 or earlier, the qualification of 6.2 is ruined in the preferences file.

I guess the solution is to stick with the pre-release version unless you have serious problems and in this case we want to hear about it.

As I recall, the one time before when I ran into this,
it was on my old Power Computing clone when it was
eating PRAM batteries (a new one every 2 months).
You might want to try doing a PRAM reset. On most
models, you do this by holding Command-Option-P-R
(all four of them) during startup.
