Metro 6.0.8 Pre-release no longer available!

Postby Jerm » Fri Jun 20, 2003 2:07 am

The Metro 6.0.8 pre-release is available now.

Download it here:
http://www.sagantech.biz/downloads/downloads.shtml

IMPORTANT: Metro Documents written with version 6.0.7.x or greater will NOT be readable in any Metro/Metro SE version prior to 6.0.7!

This version adds the functionality of allowing audio inputs to be selected via the newly expanded audio-input-select field of the tracks window. This allows users who have audio devices, such as the EMI 6|2M, to record using all the inputs. Previously Metro limited the number of record inputs to the number of outputs on the device.

Many other changes were made to this version including but not limited to:

• Dramatic speed improvements for Audio Overview drawing in OS X.
• Support for the VST command to resize a window. This allows plug-ins like the VST version of Vokator to work properly in Metro.
• Renaming of the Instruments window to Mixer window and renaming of the term 'Instrument' to 'Output'. Some key bindings to Menu commands changed accordingly.
• Fix for creating the correct bank numbers for DLS/MusicDevice plug-in.
• Changed the way windows are forced on screen in OS X.
• Changed the position of popup-windows on screen in OS X.
• Speed-up in the display of the follow playback bar in OS X.
• MIDI Setup under OS X now does a full scan for MIDI devices upon invocation. This means that if you unplug a USB MIDI controller device and later plug it back in, you do not have to restart Metro for it to be found.

How much extra work is there from the standard to the G4 version?

Very soon it may be advisable to dump the G4 version altogether if currently mhz and bus speed rumors become true. :)

The save diakog box is still over to the left. I thought the request was to get them centred?

Altivec will ALWAYS be faster than scalar code; the new processors have 2 altivec units as well, they just run way faster, and can take advantage of the much wider/faster bus too. So Metro G4 is gonna fly :-)
