(Unfortunately our download system using a floating point number for its version display so it will display as 6.1.0.1 there.)
IMPORTANT: The official system requirements have changed as of 6.1.
IMPORTANT: Metro Documents written with this version will NOT be readable in any version prior to Metro/Metro SE version 6.1!
IMPORTANT: This is a pre-release, meaning it has some bug fixes (and possibly features) that were deemed important enough to be released before it could be rigorously tested.
New to this version:
• Although 24 bit offline EFX processing appeared to be working in earlier versions there was a problem whereby if the selection contained more than one audio region the offline processor would produce incorrect results.
• Fixed a problem with Panther (10.3.x) and MIDIMan interface 1X1 and 2X2 interfaces. Since it is impossible to determine the receive channel setting of a MIDI device Metro was configuring the device to 0 channels. Now it configures the device to all 16 channels and 'make outputs refelect studio setup document' will create those 16 outputs.
• The offline EFX processor was not always producing the tail end of the selected area. This has been corrected.
• If all tracks were selected from the tracks window and delete time was selected from the edit menu, tempos and key signature events were being deleted if they occurred directly at the end of the selection when they should not have been.
• Automatic handling of soft-synth ports has been improved. When a plug-in is removed, rather than bring up the change ports dialog, any ports assigned to the delete plug will automatically be changed to off.
• Pasting data with a track plug-in to a new track will now correctly create a new instantiation of that plug-in and automatically assign the correct port to the track.
• Saving an Audio Unit plug-in preset would usually result in a crash. This has been fixed.
• It was possible in rare conditions that the sample selection was not being set correctly. This has been fixed.
• Start-up time has been improved especially for people that have a lot of plug-ins.
• The 'esc' can now be pressed during startup to cancel plug-in scanning or cancel resolving recent file items.
• Metro is now more tolerant in recognizing OS X VST Mach-O plug-ins that contain malformed plists (descriptions).
• When plug-ins are sorted the currently selected plug-in is automatically brought back into view.
• The Change Ports dialog was occasionally popping up unecessarily.
• The Dragg bar lines tool was not handling multiple region audio correctly.
• It was possible in some rare cases that the track type was not being set correctly making it impossible to change from a soft-synth port to an audio or MIDI port.
• Double-clicking from the track editor could bring up the graphic editor in the wrong place if the song is very long. This has been corrected.
• AudioUnit plug-ins, namely those from Apple which have editors, would not change their parameters when a preset was selected. Fixed.
• It is now possible to save the state of certain plug-ins as a preset even if they have no exposed parameters.
• MIDI through has been changed to not send through multiple extraneous noteoffs. Some MIDI keyboard controllers (namely evolution) were doing this and it would mess up sampletank 2 when used with a sustain pedal
