Presets

Postby sreeves » Mon Mar 17, 2003 4:16 pm

If I attempt to save a preset (in this case for the EQ plug-in) into the presets folder where there is already another preset with the same name (I changed slightly my original preset), Metro crashes.

I don't know if you would call this a second issue a bug, but when I save a preset for the EQ, although it does save the EQ settings it does not save the send and dry/wet mix settings. It would be nice if the two were linked since I run the preset EQ setting on several files sequencially and it's a drag to have to go back and find the same dry/wet mix setting.

thanks,

steve

Which EQ? Which OS? Does not happen for me with OS 10.2.3 and the AU:Graphic EQ.

Does not happen for me with 10.2.4 either.

I have noticed some strange peculiarities with 10.2.4. For instance, yesterday I went to the international system preferences control panel and it was completely empty and would not redraw. Clicking inside there caused it to crash. This repeated probably 10 times in a row even after logging out and back in again. I was thinking I needed to reinstall 10.2.4 but then as a last resort I rebooted and voila the system was working again without incident.

I think after your computer has been on non-stop for a week or so there are certain system issues that have not been completely worked out yet.

This is not to say the restarting will solve this particular problem but I would recommend it.

If not I need more info. I guess you could email me the preset.

Does not happen to me either. 10.2.4

Does it bring up the 'do you want to replace this item' message and crash when you click ok, or does it crash before this message?

The problem I had with crashing when saving a same named preset into the same folder occurs with my Mac G3 pismo model laptop. I tried the same thing on my desktop G4 mac and it does not happen. Thanks for the help.
