No need to check out the bundle.. unless you want to hear something really bad!

I did not previously open metro using dock..
I do wonder why this problem only happens when opening from dock.

Most likely because the version installed in the Dock is an older version.

OK, I trashed everything having to do with Metro. Downloaded the latest update (6.2.1.7). Same problem... only now no matter where I open Metro from the problem is there. No play thru, no record when software audio thru is chosen. Even when No Software Thru Feedback Protection is chosen.

I am going to load a previos version of Metro and see if the problem presists.

I have loaded Metro 6.2.1 and everything works fine...
Any idea why 6.2.1.7 is having this problem for me but no one else?

One more thing... I've neglected to mention that I am talking about the G4 edition.. Don't know if it makes a differance or not.

Yes, it is almost definitely related to a problem with preferences. Throw out your Metro Preferences file and retry.

There is a bug in the backward compatibility of the preferences file. In other words, if you run 6.2.1.7 then go back and try to run 6.2.1 it will not process the preferences file correctly.

This will be corrected in future versions but it is impossible to correct the previous versions.

Would it be useful to regard pre-releases as releases?
I know it states a pre-release may contain a new bug or something but I can't actually recall the last time I had to jump back to an earlier version (the serious jaguar bug in a recent version - you fixed in a day  ).

Apart from that one freak time....the pre releases have fixed so many bugs and added so much I would assume most people on the forum jump at them without complaint. :D

If you think its too risky then I guess further announcements would have something like

Jumping to versions earlier than 6.2.1.8 can corrupt preferences.....and should be avoided.
