Double speed audio playback. bug?

Postby Scoot » Tue May 20, 2003 4:04 pm

If I import an mp3, metro asks to save the aiff of it as a temp file.

With the settings mono, 16 bit and 22khz the track comes into track #1.

With the record "R" on, the track plays at double speed.
With it off, it plays normal.

Why should it play double?
Is metro assuming I want to do modifications to the track at 44khz?
I can bring the track in at 44 to start with of course but it is already a large file. (At 44khz it's 597MB!)

I cannot repeat this problem. It always plays normal for me. Have you tried different MP3's?

I thought ok if I can do this all the time and you can't it must be a switch.
And it was.

Ok, this is not a bug. This is the result of play back and record at different sample rates with software audio thru on.
