Edit audio bug?

I can't use the scale amplitude and fade functions.
Cross fade works fine.
I'm working on stereo files and the result of these edits is white noise.

Seems to be a problem with higher resolutions files.
44khz 16 bits stereo OK
96 Khz 32 bits stereo - can't edit properly

I am investigating...
Yes well Metro does not write 32 bit (integers) type of aif file directly so there is indeed a bug here. It should work fine with 32 bit (FLOATS) though. If you can try to format for 32 bit floats because it is faster and more accurate anyway, until this is worked out.

Okay wait. I was incorrect in the previous post.

Metro does write this file type internally and is writing it incorrectly on intel machines. This is fixed in 6.4.7.1. Metro was not endian swapping correctly (only for that file type) so it will work fine on PPC machines but on intel machines you will get white noise. It is still true that the 32 bit floating point is faster, since that is what CoreAudio uses internally and so there is no need to convert between the file format and what is sent to the Macintosh audio system software.

Thank you for finding this.

OK,
I didn't know about the floating point...

It goes fine that way.

Thanks
