Notation window pop up menus

Postby almapercus » Wed Mar 21, 2007 8:11 pm

The pop up menus in the notation window aren't working, except for the transcription quantize tool.

Hello Robert,

All the notation popups work fine on my intel MacBook Pro and Powerbook G4 but I guess I am using 10.4.8. Will have to try 10.4.9.

I just went ahead and installed 10.4.9 on a Powerbook G4 and the notation popups work fine.

Are you sure you are not launching a very old version of Metro by mistake?

Try restarting your computer. If that does not work we will need more detailed info on your system and what happends to try to repeat it here.

I've updated from LX a few days ago. My full version is the latest.
As I had specified before, there's only the notation quantize pop up working.
If I try to open the note tool for example, nothing happens. If I sweep the cursor from the tool the note figure change but I can't guess which one it will be. Hopefully, it works fine using the keyboards commands (for the note tool).
I have the same problem if I open the set up track window, the pull down menu and the clef tool pop up don't work.
The other menus of the software are working fine.
I also use Overture on a day basis without this problem.
???

Hello Robert,

This all sounded so familiar so I searched this forum and found this thread.

This problem turns out to be a bug in the OS. When the display (Displays setting in system preferences) is set for thousands of colors or less, the notation window popups will not popup. I had mentioned that Metro 6.2.5 has a workaround for this although this fix seems to have not been incorporated in later versions or is not working.

I will look into this further. Let me know if that helps.

Yeah!
I've now set the monitor display for millions rather than thousands. It works!

Thanks

This problem is definitely (re?)fixed in the next release of Metro. Thanks.
