Fast Forward in OS9 and OSX

Postby Scoot » Thu Apr 17, 2003 6:19 am

If you play a stereo audio track in OS9 and then hit fast forward it plays twice as quickly and you can hear it running twice as fast in the left ear. When you release the FF it keeps playing only in the left until you stop and hit play again.

Under OSX is doesn't FF at all.

Is this a metro problem or scooter needs a faster mac problem?

9.2.2, 10.2.5
6.05 and 6.06

I think especially under X it is disk speed letting me down.

I think I mentioned this somewhere else in this forum. Fast Forward does not work with CoreAudio (OS X) because CoreAudio does not provide the required functionality. In OS 9 this is a known bug (It may be system software related, we need to check).

In a future version it would be nice to incorporate this functionality directly in Metro and not require the system to provide it.
